Ultimate Healing: Discussion
It's really hard to write when your kids are in the background talking about how they are going to tell on each other. Now that I've written that, I wonder if I just told on them? Anyway...
Last weekend in my message I made the statement that healing comes through sacrifice. When Jesus gave his life on the cross, healing and restoration entered the world in a matchless way. It is through his sacrifice that we are healed.
But how does this healing enter our own life? My contention was that ultimate healing comes through a sacrificial confession (giving our lives to Jesus as Lord) and through ongoing sacrificial attitudes and actions toward others. My questions for you, in anticipation for what I'll write in AfterWORD when my sermon is posted to the 'net, are:
- How have you found ongoing sacrifice for others healing to your soul?
- If you haven't, how has it been destructive?
- If it is a mixed bag (sometimes healing, sometimes destructive) why is this the case? What factors determine this?
