Participating in this challenge has opened my eyes to quite a few things. I believe that at least for me, my past experiences with complete fasting were easier than this situation of eating a little but never to the point of satiation. When you fast, at some point, the hunger pangs go away! I am realizing I very rarely experience true hunger, and when I do I almost immediately eat whatever I want until I feel satisfied. For these two days (and one to go) I'm finding myself in an almost constant state of hunger. A huge portion of our world's people live like this day in and day out. Without the benefit of all the clean water they want - to drink, wash in or cook with. Without the benefit of being sure of the next portion to come. Without the benefit of knowing the food or water they consume will not make them sick through bacteria or parasites. Just a few of the privileges I have that most of the poor and hungry in this world do not share.

I could go on, but I'd just like to thank you Reed, for issuing this challenge. I can't wait 'til it's over!! But I won't forget this feeling of hunger. I hope because of it I will be a little less thoughtless and greedy when I resume eating a more varied and satisfying menu.
